Mr. Steven T. Tan

Mr. Steven Tan is the President of SM Supermalls, responsible for mall developments in both the Philippines and China. He began his career with SM handling mall operations for the Podium in 2004 and later spearheading the establishment of SM Mall of Asia in 2006. Mr. Tan led the Premium Malls Division comprising of SM Megamall, SM Mall of Asia, SM City North Edsa and SM’s malls in China. He eventually led the opening of SM Aura in Bonifacio Global City in May 2013, putting SM Supermalls in the ranks of the country’s upscale malls. In addition, Mr. Tan oversaw the expansion of the Podium and the establishment of Mega Fashion Hall at SM Megamall.

Mr. Tan has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the Paris School of Management. He has had extensive experience in the hospitality sector with stints in Hospitality Management at the Howard Plaza Hotel in Taipei, Taiwan from 1990-1998, the opening team of the Barcelo Grand Hotel in China and roles as Regional Director of Marketing and Communications for FilBarcelo and external affairs for the group that included Pearl Farm, Punta Fuego and Taal Vista Hotel in the Philippines.
