With two decades of public service behind him, Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri is a veteran legislator, with experience in both houses of Congress.
Since first being elected into Congress in 1998, he has proven himself to be a prolific and hard worker, authoring and sponsoring over one hundred laws of national application, such as the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act, the Anti-Hazing Act, the Philippine Cooperative Code, the Renewable Energy Act, the Good Manners and Right Conduct and Values Education Act, the Bangsamoro Organic Law, and the COVID-19 Vaccination Program Act.
Apart from being a productive legislator, he has also helped bring the Senate to greater performance while serving as its Majority Leader in the 14th, 17th and 18th Congresses. An effective consensus builder and consultative leader, he now leads the 19th Congress as Senate President.
Bilang Trabahador niyo sa Senado, he has posted perfect attendance across two decades of service in the House and the Senate.
A legislator, an environmental advocate, a humanitarian worker, a Filipino Martial Arts champion and enthusiast, and a devoted husband and father, he lives his life and fulfils his public service mandate following his motto: “helping the Filipino help themselves.”
