Ms. Meryl Adiel T. Hernandez leads the Corporate Relations & Impact department which is responsible for the company and brand’s reputation management and leads its strategic communication across its different stakeholders (customers, employees, Owner Operators, partners, and industry partners).  In her role, she is also lead for Public Affairs, Sustainability, Customer Care, Crisis Management, and McDonald’s Philippines’ Charity of Choice Ronald McDonald House Charities or RMHC.

Ms. Hernandez joined into McDonald’s as Head of the PR & Communications team in 2011 where she was the pioneer of the McDonald’s Philippines social media ecosystem. She successfully launched the McDonald’s Philippines’ Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages back in 2011, and laid the foundation for content management excellence, social listening, and social customer care, disciplines that are still being used today. Her advocacies include championing a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workforce among the close to 60,000-strong McDonald’s workforce all over the country, as well as making a difference in the community through education and volunteerism.

Outside McDonald’s, Ms. Hernandez was the youngest elected president of the 65-year-old Philippine Association of National Advertisers or PANA in 2017. She held the Vice President position in 2018, 2020-2022. She once again took the lead and served PANA once again as President of the Board of Directors in 2023. She was the youngest serving board member of the Ad Standards Council (2017, 2018, 2020) and currently also serves as the Vice President of the Board of Directors of RMHC (2018-present).

She was recognized in 2017 as one of the 12 Young Market Master Awardees by Mansmith and Fielders, an award that recognizes the country’s most outstanding marketers and entrepreneurs under the age of 35.Â

She graduated from the McDonald’s Hamburger University in Chicago Illinois where she took a Marketing course in 2014 and is a proud alumna of De La Salle University-Manila with a degree in Communication Arts.
