Mr. Michael Conti Martinez

Mr. Michael Conti Martinez is the Senior Director for Development and concurrently the General Manager for Franchise for the Eigth-8-Ate Food Group, handling Wendy’s Philippines and Conti’s Bakeshop and Restaurant, amongst its growing roster.

His role evolved in the successful expansion of Conti’s and Wendy’s thru strategic site acquisitions and innovative project development, that in spite of the negative impact of COVID-19 in the global economy, both brands achieved significant growth.

Since joining January 2017, he has spearheaded many development milestones such as almost quadrupling Conti’s store network, launching its first -of-its-kind drive-thru bakeshop format in the Philippines, pioneering successful Wendy’s models such as Wendy’s Drive-Thru-Only, Wendy’s Delivery-Carry Out, and Wendy’s lean free-standing models that all produced remarkable business R.O.I. More recently, new strategic partnerships headed by Mr. Martinez have led to the introduction of flagship standalone formats of both Conti’s and Wendy’s in Metro Manila and in key provincial cities of Luzon.

Prior to joining Eight-8-Ate, Mr. Martinez grew thru his Project Development role in Amaia Land, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ayala Land Inc. He also completed two business degrees from De La Salle University Manila, finishing with B.S. Business Management, and B.S. Applied Economics; graduating Cum Laude, and receiving Gold Medal for Most Outstanding Thesis Award. Outside work, he enjoys body-building, pursues adventure, and likes to dance.
