Mr. Steven T. Tan is the President of SM Supermalls, one of Asia’s largest mall developers and operators, with 90 malls in the Philippines and 9 in China. He holds a master’s degree in business from the Paris School of Management.

Mr. Tan began his career in the hospitality industry at the Howard Plaza Hotel Taipei, where he developed strong customer service and operations experience. He later joined the opening team of the Barcelo Grand Hotel Shanghai before returning to the Philippines as Regional Director of Marketing and Communications for FilBarcelo.

He joined SM in 2004 and played a key role in launching SM Mall of Asia in 2006, later overseeing SM’s Premier Malls Division, which includes several of the company’s flagship destination malls. In 2020, he was appointed President of SM Supermalls, leading the organization through the challenges of the pandemic while supporting national vaccination efforts through mall-based initiatives.

Mr. Tan has received numerous recognitions, including the UN Women Asia-Pacific WEPs Awards, Global Filipino Executive of the Year, and Asia’s Most Influential Filipino, recognizing his leadership in business, community engagement, and inclusive growth.
